The Judicial Council of the Seventh Circuit seeks applications from all qualified applicants to fill two positions as a bankruptcy judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Indiana with a duty station in Indianapolis, IN. One position will be available in 2026 and one in early 2027. Applicants must be willing to travel to other locations in the Seventh Circuit to handle cases as need arises.

JUDICIAL CLERKSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT - OFFICE OF STAFF LAW CLERKS
Staff Law Clerkships available from August 2027 through August 2029.


Applications will be reviewed beginning in mid-June, 2026, in accordance with the Federal Clerkship Hiring Plan. Interviews will begin in July 2026. 

Staff law clerks conduct legal research and recommend dispositions on a broad spectrum of cases. In contrast to chambers clerks, they work for all the judges of the court, attend conferences at which three-judge panels deliberate and resolve cases, and assist the judges in resolving substantive motions that address complex questions of procedure or seek preliminary relief.
