CM / ECF Administration Announcements

• Please Note:  Effective Monday, May 04, 2015, it is now mandatory that all Applications for Admission to Practice in the Seventh Circuit be submitted electronically via the ECF Document Filing System. Please see details.


• Please Note:  On Monday, March 2, 2015, the Seventh Circuit began accepting electronic fee payments for originating case filing fees (petitions for review and original petitions) via Pay.gov. Please see the details.

• Attention Appellate Court Filers:

• September 2012 MAC issue:   New Mac computers come with a default setting that does not allow applications downloaded from "anywhere"
  (which prevents download of the ECF applet).  To resolve the issue please see the details.



• ATTENTION MAC USERS - Mac users with OS X 9 (Mavericks), who are accessing CM/ECF with the Safari 7 browser, will need to modify the browser security settings in order to attach documents for filing. Please do the following:
  1. Log into CM/ECF.
  2. Click the Safari menu and select Preferences.
  3. Click the Security tab.
  4. Click Manage Website Settings.
  5. Locate the court server (ecf.ca7.uscourts.gov) under Currently Open Websites and modify to Run in Unsafe Mode.
  6. For those concerned with working in an unsafe mode, please use the Mozilla Firefox browser, which does not require the setting change.
