For Death Penalty Cases:

Under Circuit Rules 22 and 27, attorneys in death penalty cases should make every effort to file motions with the clerk during normal business hours. If an attorney believes that an emergency motion is likely to be filed during nonbusiness hours, the attorney should notify the clerk during business hours of this possibility.

If an emergency arises in a death penalty case during nonbusiness hours, including the need to file an emergency motion to stay execution, an attorney should contact the death penalty clerk at 708-723-6783.
